A filter press allows to separate liquid and solid phases under pressure.
Fields of application: industrial or urban sludge dewatering
Process: dewatering, filtration, extraction, used as washing device for chemical and pharmaceutical industries, food and ceramic industries, …
Nowadays filter presses are the most efficient mechanised dewatering devices, that can give out from 30% up to 80% of dryness depending on the kind of sludge. A filter press is made of a mechanically welded frame and of plates covered by a filter cloth holding solid elements and making liquids pass through.
The plates are chamber plates so as to solids can build up between the plates. Each plate is composed of two shafts enabling to position the plates on the tie rods of the frame. The filter clothes hold dry solids and make liquids pass through. They are made of a central sleeve and two sides that cover each side of the plates.
